Many CGA students are cared for by widows; either their widowed mother, or others in the community. CGA comes along side ~130 women in a support role. Widow Care Groups are set up for each region of our community. These are designed to include weekly Bible study and encouragement. The women all come together a few times a year to share their Praises and Prayers and elect new leaders. Most of the women refer to their group as their “family.”
Three times a year, the widows and other guardians of CGA orphans receive food distribution during the school breaks when their children are not receiving meals at school. The food distribution usually consists of beans and maize (corn).
